Return Policy

We want you to be happy with your purchase from Electro Hut Pty Ltd. Please read our policy carefully before starting a return.
To begin a return, you must contact our support department at returns@electrohut.co.za to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. We require that a return be authorized via email before any items are sent back to us.
NOTE: Batteries require special handling instructions to meet South African shipping and safety regulations. These will be emailed to you once your return is approved.
1. Policy Summary (TL;DR)
- Returns must be authorized within 30 days of receiving your order.
- You must obtain an RMA number before shipping anything back.
- Shipping costs for non-defective returns are not refundable.
- A restocking fee (up to 25% or a R100 minimum) may apply to your return.
- Packages returned without an authorized RMA will incur additional fees.
- Do not refuse delivery of your package, as this results in extra fees and potential loss of your refund.
2. How to Start a Return
- Request an RMA: Fill out the return request form at: www.electrohut.co.za/returns.
- Receive Instructions: You will receive an RMA number and detailed return instructions via email from our support team.
- Ship the Product: Send the product back to us within 7 days of receiving your RMA number to ensure a smooth process.
3. Important Timeframes
- Return requests must be made within 30 days of delivery.
- Issued RMA numbers are valid for 30 days.
- Products must be shipped back within 7 days of RMA approval.
4. Shipping and Refunds
- For non-defective items, original and return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility and are non-refundable.
- If the return is due to an error by Electro Hut (e.g., wrong item sent), we will provide a prepaid return shipping label.
- If a returned product is tested and found to be fully functional or damaged by the user, the return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund amount.
5. Conditions for Return
- Returned items must be in their original, resellable condition (e.g., no cracks, tears, or missing components).
- Items showing signs of installation or use (such as torn flex cables, scratched parts, or used adhesives) may be denied a refund or incur additional charges.
- Items received by our returns department that do not receive a response from the customer after 7 days will be considered abandoned and will be recycled.
6. Exchanges
Electro Hut does not offer direct exchanges. This process ensures you get the correct item as quickly as possible. If you ordered the wrong item, please:
- Place a new order on our website for the correct item immediately.
- Submit a separate return request for the incorrect item within the 30-day window.
7. Stickers and Packaging
- Removing the Electro Hut tamperproof sticker does not automatically void your return.
- However, returns may be delayed or denied if we cannot verify that the item was originally purchased from Electro Hut. Please keep original packaging where possible.
8. Unauthorized Returns & Refused Packages
- Rejecting a package from the courier without prior RMA approval may result in a 25% restocking fee (R100 minimum) and the loss of your original shipping fee from any potential refund.
- Any customs, handling, or return shipping fees incurred by Electro Hut due to unauthorized returns will be deducted from your refund.
9. Discount Codes & Coupons
Any discounts or coupon codes used at the time of purchase apply to the product prices only and are not applicable to shipping fees or potential restocking fees.
10. Third-Party Repairs
Electro Hut is not liable for costs or damages incurred from repairs performed by third parties. Our mission is to supply you with high-quality parts for your own DIY repairs or for use by your chosen certified technician.
